LUSH Christmas 2017 – Gift Guide

12 / 22 / 172 / 26 / 18

LUSH Christmas 2017!

I know it’s a little late for this to be a LUSH Christmas gift guide but it’s never too late to get in the festive spirit…(well I think this could still work as an awesome last minute gift because who could ever not love LUSH products as a gift).

My LUSH Christmas haul
My LUSH Christmas haul

I am always over  the moon for the Lush Christmas collection, mainly for Rose jam and Snow fairy but this year I decided to get some of my old time favourites and some newbies for me.

Products I have purchased to use over the festive season:

Rose Jam Shower Gel

Rose Jam is quintessentially the perfect shower gel for the festive season. It’s floral fragrance and silky smooth texture is destined to leave you feeling indulgent and relaxed.

The Magic of Christmas Bubble Bar

The aroma of this bar is magical, leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling. It reminds me of  spicy mulled wine that we enjoyed on the streets of Europe in winter. This bar is a perfect stocking filler. I enjoy it for a foot soak as I tend to be water conscious and it leaves your home smelling like Christmas.

Christmas Golden Wonder Bath Bomb

This bath bomb is not only beautiful, it smells fresh and contains cognac oil. Perfect for a stocking filler. I plan on using it for an ever needed relaxing foot soak followed by a foot massage by my husband. I simply love watching bath bombs fizz up and release its gorgeous colours and scents.

Snow fairy naked body conditioner & Shampoo

Naked body conditioner and shampoo

These help me meet my festive holiday shower goals. I am usually at the seaside over the festive season which means hot humid days and beach strained hair. No one wants to lather themselves with lotions to feel greasy and this naked body conditioner moisturises your skin without the greasy feeling and leaves it smelling like candy floss with an elegant shimmer.

The shampoo bar is perfect for hair that tends to be over ashes drying out the scalp.I wash my hair after every trip to the beach which leaves the scalp dry. This bar is perfect for a dry scalp.

Sleepy body lotion

This lotion has a beautiful hue and scent of lavender. It leaves me perfectly soft, smooth and ready for a sweet nights sleep. A fabulous Chrsitmas gift for someone that lives a fast paced lifestyle.

Happy festive shopping!

My tarot card reading experience

I must admit I was nervous as I did not know what to expect. Mellissa was lovely and made me feel at ease and comfortable over our video call session. She did not know anything about me but once she laid down my cards and started talking me through them, it was like she knew me and my journey through my developments into adulthood, my career, my marriage and me becoming  mom. She continues to reference the cards to talk me through what she is reading into. She talked me through decisions I needed to make given where I was in my life which was very interesting for me. I would recommend trying it out for yourself.

The Whale Caller soon to make waves on the big screen!

Official trailer https://youtu.be/gRIWaYhI8gY

SEPTEMBER 2017- Zola Maseko’s The Whale Caller, is a fascinating story based on Zakes Mda’s bestselling novel.  It is an enchanting, romantic comedy of sorts, told through lyrical and magical storytelling. The film is set against the backdrop of the stunningly beautiful Hermanus, on the West Coast of South Africa. The story follows The Whale Caller (Sello Maake ka-Ncube), a man who has long turned his back on humanity.  It’s a heart -warming tale about his journey from misanthropic alienation to human connection, driven by a unique love triangle between him and Saluni (Amrain Ismail-Essop), the wispy sexy town drunk who harbours ideas of grandeur, and Sharisha, a southern right whale.

The film will be released in cinemas, nationwide, on 13 October, and is distributed by Ster-Kinekor Entertainment.

The Whale Caller has already won Best African Film at the Jo’burg Film Festival!

About Zakes Mda and the book

The Whale Caller, Zakes Mda’s fifth novel, is his most enchanting and accessible book in which the changing face of post-apartheid South Africa is revealed through prodigious, lyrical storytelling.
As the novel opens, the seaside village of Hermanus, on the country’s west coast, is overrun with whale watchers-foreign tourists wearing floral shirts and toting expensive binoculars, determined to see whales in their natural habitat. But when the tourists have gone home, The Whale Caller lingers at the shoreline, wooing a whale he calls Sharisha with cries from a kelp horn. When Sharisha fails to appear for weeks on end, The Whale Caller frets like a jealous lover-oblivious to the fact that the town drunk, Saluni, a woman who wears a silk dress and red stiletto heels, is infatuated with him.
